At the FBI Group, we offer a full range of inspections on new construction projects. The typical sequence of a residential phased new construction inspection consists of 4 Phases:

Stage 1 : Pre-Foundation

Stage 2 : Pre-Lintel

Stage 3 : Pre-Drywall

Stage 4 : BLUE TAPE Walk Through

Stage 1 • Pre-Foundation

This inspection is performed just prior to the placement of concrete. We inspect items such as Excavation, Shoring and Re-Shoring, Forms, Footings, etc.

Stage 2 • Pre-Lintel

This phase is for block constructed homes. The window layout of the lintels and block cells are inspected. Re-Bar connections, proper size steel, and proper stationing of poured cells are checked.

Stage 3 • Pre-Drywall

This inspection is performed following the installation of framing, plumbing and electrical rough-in and just prior to the placement of insulation and drywall.

Stage 4 • Blue Tape Walk-Through

The purpose of the BLUE TAPE Walk-Through is to complete a final inspection of the quality of the build. The BLUE TAPE is performed prior to your scheduled final walk-through with your builder. Our inspector will BLUE TAPE cosmetic defects, externally and internally, as well as check a sampling of standard operating systems (anything that turns on/off and opens/closes) such as doors, windows, electrical outlets, etc. It will create a punch list for the builder. This does NOT include an inspection of the roof.
